As for Chinese products, the Oregon and Carlton LP chains are made in China. Most of their smaller laminated bars are also made in China. Chinese steel is no longer used in any of the Oregon - Carlton - Trilink chains, or bars.Very simply Start the saw and set the 'T' just so the chain is turning. To convert an old point model over to a nonpoints model useing stihl parts, you need the coil and the flywheel along with the wiring to make it easy. Or go to napa buy an omega module for under $20. Follow instructions, except for reverse the wires, and you have a nonpoints model.Just a saw that works when needed with enough power is. A few saws from Husqvarna fit that scenario, 460 Rancher, 555, 565 are the ones that come to mind. I believe the timber bear later became the PM610 which later became the PM650. Here is a link to the specs on the timber bear.That saw was last produced around 2008 and represents the last actual pro model saw that Poulan ever produced. It is 54cc and far superior to anything else built in that class such as MS290 and 455 Rancher. It has split cases, adjustable oiler, and very solid construction.
